One of my favorite verses in the scripture is Psalm 63:1-2. The psalmist said, “O God, you are my God; I shall seek you earnestly; my soul thirsts for you; my body longs for you in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”
David expresses His desire for God’s presence with the metaphor that represents how a thirsty person seeks water in a desert under unfavorable weather. Psalm 63 always reminds me of the refreshment that comes from dwelling in God’s presence.
This is why one of the ways to find God is by dwelling in His presence. We are conscious of his presence in our lives when we dwell with God.
This consciousness can be a feeling of closeness or contentment with God, but it can also be an awareness of God’s greatness, power, wisdom or love.
