10 Reasons To Have Faith In God At All Time

Sharing is caring!

In this post, I’ve outlined 10 reasons to have faith in God that you should be aware of.

As a Christian and a child of God, it is crucial to have complete faith and trust in God in good and bad circumstances.

However, it’s easy to lose faith and trust in God when things aren’t going well. So if you’re struggling with your faith or even have lost faith in God, these ten reasons will encourage you to keep believing.

Faith involves complete and total trust in God. It is the assurance of things we haven’t already seen. Faith is the cornerstone of our salvation, and we cannot please God without it.

We know all this, but it can be difficult to maintain faith in God when facing life’s challenges.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 NIV
In this post, we will be talking about:

  • Why is it important to have faith?
  • Benefits of having faith in God?
  • 10 reasons to have faith in God

Why Is It Important To Have Faith?

As a Christian or believer, why is it important to have faith in God? Faith in God is essential because it is the foundation of our salvation.

Christianity is built on the foundation of faith. Faith is more than just a synonym for words like trust and hope.

Faith is also synonymous with words like belief, religion, and gospel. You are saved when you genuinely believe in your heart and have faith that Jesus died for your sins.

As a result, you must have faith to call yourself a Christian or a child of God. Ephesians 2:8 says, For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8 NKJV

Benefits Of Having Faith In God

Before we talk about the 10 reasons to have faith in God, we need to examine some benefits of having faith in God. There are various advantages to having faith in God.

To begin with, doubting God is like short-changing oneself because receiving anything from God without faith is nearly impossible.

Furthermore, he has an abundance of promises and gifts in store for us. Listed below are some of the benefits of having faith in God.

1.  Faith in God Gives You The Benefits Of Salvation

One of the greatest gifts that God has given to us is salvation; through salvation, we receive the Holy Spirit, release from the enemy’s shackles, assurance of eternal life, and redemption in Christ Jesus.

However, without faith in God, the magnificent gift of salvation is unavailable. The gifts and the fruits of the Holy Spirit can only be gotten through salvation and faith in God.

Galatians 5: 22-23 NKJV says But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such, there is no law.

2.  Faith In God Gives You Peace And Hope

When you have confidence in God, you gain peace and tranquillity in overall conditions and situations. Even when things appear hopeless, faith in God gives you hope.

The event of Apostle Paul on a ship in Acts of Apostles; chapter twenty-seven is an example of the peace and hope that faith in God offers.

Apostle Paul was on his way to Rome when their ship was damaged by a violent storm. While others were terrified that they might become food for the sea, Paul stayed calm because he had faith and believed in God.

May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope. Romans 15:13 AMPC

3.  Faith Gives You The Strength To Go On In Tough Times

Faith in God provides us with the strength to carry on when facing challenging times.

The Bible says in Philippians 4:13 NLT, For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Take time to meditate on that bible verse and listen to what it says to you. You can do it all through the strength that God gives you.

People who showed terrific displays of faith in the Bible, like Abraham and Daniel, did not do it by their power alone; they did it from the divine strength given to them by God through faith.

4.  Faith Prevents You From Sinning Against God

You can’t sin against God if you have faith and confidence in him.

When you have faith in God, you will not seek solutions elsewhere or rely on your own understanding; instead, you will look to Jesus, the author of our faith, for guidance and aid.

If Jonah had entire confidence and faith in God, he would not have sinned against him by attempting to run away from God.

5.  Faith Helps Us Pass Tests From God

God will occasionally put us to the test to determine what is in our hearts and how honest we are. These trials enable us to grow in our understanding of Him.

However, we cannot pass any test unless we have confidence and trust in God.

God may appear silent in our times of struggle, but when we stay on to our faith and trust in him, we triumph and gain a crown of life.

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 NLT

6.  Our Faith Can Strengthen Others

Our faith in God can strengthen the faith of others.

God has called us to be a light in a dark world; we are the salt of the earth; you can share the gospel with others with your actions and behavior.

Colossians 4:5-6 NASB Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.

7.  Faith Is A Key To Moving God’s Hand

The power of faith in God is fantastic; faith in God will move his hand to perform miracles for you.

So many times, when Jesus healed people in the Bible, he would say, go, your faith has made you well.

The power in faith can solve all the problems that may come your way.

Matthew 9:22 NLT says Jesus turned around, and when he saw her, he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

8.  Faith Helps You Overcome Fear

Fear is one of the enemy’s weapons. He utilizes it to keep us in servitude and prevent us from achieving the next degree of glory God has in store for us.

When there is doubt, there is fear. The Bible narrates the story of Peter, a disciple of Jesus Christ, who walked on water to meet Jesus. Peter was doing this successfully until he felt scared and began to sink.

Matthew 14:28-‬31 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.

But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”

We can draw some lessons from Peter’s walk on water:

1.  Peter Had Some Faith

Peter had some faith in God, he had little faith, and little faith is better than no faith.

He was the only one among the other disciples who took the initiative to walk to Jesus on water, but his little faith only got him so far.

Imagine what you could do if you had a lot of faith. Jesus taught us that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. Imagine what you could move with massive faith.

2.  The Storms Of Life Can Shake Your Faith

Peter encountered real storms and winds, but we may confront hypothetical storms that battle against us; when these storms arrive, they can shake your faith and cause you to doubt God.

3.  Fear Is A Tool Of Satan

Fear is a tool that the Devil employs to limit us. Peter was moving forward when fear stopped and he began to drown. Likewise, fear can cause you to drown in problems and challenges.

According to the Bible, God has not given us the Spirit of fear; instead, he has given us power, love, and a sound mind. There is no need to be afraid because God is your light and salvation.

4.  We Can Always Call For Help

When Peter was about to drown, he called out to Jesus for help, and Jesus saved him. So we, too, can reach out to the Lord for help when our faith is weak.

10 Reasons To Have Faith In God

Apart from the10 reasons to have faith in God listed here, there are numerous other reasons to believe in God.

God desires a connection with us, and as Christians, we are obligated to have complete and utter faith in him.

Your faith in God demonstrates your love and dedication to Him. Faith reflects your trust in him and your belief in his majesty and power.

In this post, I have included10 reasons to have faith in God that every Christian must know.

1.  We Can Not Please God Without Faith

The Bible tells us in Hebrew 11:6 NIV that, without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Take note of the word impossible in the bible verse above. It is impossible to please God without faith; this is one of the 10 reasons to have faith in God, which you should keep at the back of your mind.

You can’t please God if you don’t believe in him. Without faith, your good actions and generosity will not be enough to please God.

God is delighted when we have a relationship with him; he is pleased when we believe in the power of his name and his ability to save.

The story of the Roman centurion in Matthew 8: 5-10 is an example of faith that pleased God.

When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with him, “Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.”

Jesus said, “I will come and heal him.” But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.

I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come.

And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! Matthew 8:5-‬10 NLT

‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ Jesus was so impressed by the centurion’s faith that he declared that he had never seen such faith in Israel.

Jesus was astounded by his faith because he was not even a Jew, He had not grown up with Judaism’s laws, he was a new convert, and yet his faith was greater than that of individuals who had known God for years.

It is possible to be a Christian for many years and still fall short of God’s expectations due to a lack of faith.

2.  Faith Makes The Impossible Possible

The second of the 10 reasons to have faith in God is Faith makes the impossible possible. God is a God of miracles, signs, and wonders; his power is beyond our comprehension and scientific explanation.

He can create ways where none appear to exist and reopen doors that have been closed for a long time. God specializes in making the impossible possible, but we can only gain access to this through faith in God.

Jesus said in Mark 9:23, “Anything is possible if a person believes.” God has the power to do all, you only need to believe.

I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. Mark 11:23 NLT

3.  Faith Helps Us Reject The Lies Of The Enemy

The third reason out of our 10 reasons to have faith in God is that faith helps us reject the enemy’s lies. John 8:44 tells us that the Devil is the father of lies. It is the only language he speaks.

The Devil tries to deceive us by making us doubt God’s promises and strength, but if you have complete faith in God, you will be able to resist the Devil’s lies and deception with your shield of faith.

4.  Trusting Others Has A Curse

This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. Jeremiah 17:5 NLT

Trusting others comes with a curse; this is one of the 10 reasons to have faith in God that you must not forget. If you don’t place your trust in God to get you out of whatever bind you’re in, you’ll end yourself in a lot of trouble.

Jeremiah 17:5 says that those who trust others rather than God are cursed. Human beings are frail. The Bible says they are as frail as breath; you can’t afford to put your faith and hope in them for help.

Anything can happen to a human being; they can become sick or die, and in either case, they will no longer be able to keep their commitments. God is the only person you can trust who will never let you down.

5.  God Has A Plan

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

While we may have drawn out a plan for ourselves and our future, God has a plan for us as well. Furthermore, whatever plan we have is always inferior to God’s design.

God is the alpha and omega; he knows the end from the beginning. He is the one who knows what is best for you. He considers the big picture.

His word says in Isaiah 55:9 NLT, For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

When you have faith and trust in God, you can wait patiently for his plan to emerge, but when you doubt him, you miss out on his original purpose and seek solutions elsewhere.

6.  God Never Fails

The sixth out of the 10 reasons to have faith in God is he never fails. God never fails, and he will not put you to shame.

He has promised in his word that anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”So have faith in him and trust his process because he never fails. He knows what is best for you.

7.  He Has The Final Say

God has the final say in everything; in fact, he is the only one who has a say. When God has said no, no one can say yes.

Proverbs 16:1 CEV says, We humans make plans, but the Lord has the final word.

His word carries weight and authority. Whatever he has stated about your life will undoubtedly come to pass; believe in God and trust in his word since he has the final say.

8.  Faith Gives You Confidence

Faith gives you confidence in God and the strength to keep going no matter how difficult things get. When you believe God is in charge, you never lose hope.

Ephesians 3:12 CEV says, Christ now gives us courage and confidence, so we can come to God by faith.

9.  God Loves Us

The ninth reason to have faith in God is God loves you. God is your heavenly Father, and he loves you so much that he will never let anything wrong happen to you.

Because of his great love for us, he sent his only begotten Son to die for the world. Jesus did not shed his blood on the cross of Calvary so that we would suffer and be alone.

He always looks out for us, so trust him because he loves you.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV

10.  To Receive From Him

The last of our 10 reasons to have faith in God is to receive from him.

The Bible says in James 1:6-‬8 NIV‬‬‬‬‬, But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

We can only receive the answers to our prayer requests when we have faith in God; without faith in God, we will not receive from him.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed reading the 10 reasons to have faith in God, and I pray you to receive the kind of faith that pleases God and moves God to action.

The Bible says in Romans 10:17 KJV, So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Reading your Bible and spending time praying in the Holy Spirit are the only ways to increase your faith. According to 1 Corinthians 12: 9, one of the Holy Spirit’s gifts is faith.

When you are in God’s presence, you experience a sense of peace and calm, and your faith is strengthened. This is the only way to go from having little faith to having faith that can move mountains.

Save this for later!
