How To Trust God With All You Dealings And Ways

Sharing is caring!

Knowing how to trust God is easier when everything seems to be going well but trusting God when things go wrong is the actual test.

God specializes in making the impossible possible; he is a miracle-working God who can do all, but we must trust him and believe that he can do what he says he will do.

Meaning Of Trust In God

Trusting in God means having faith in God’s faithfulness; it means believing in God’s strength and ability to do what we ask of Him. When you rely on God’s honesty and goodness, it signifies you have faith that He will not let you down.

Even when things aren’t exactly how you’d like them to be. We put our trust in Him, knowing that He has a better plan for us. We should learn to trust God for two fundamental reasons.

The first is the power of trusting God; the second is the joy and tranquility that comes from trusting God. Trusting God has incredible power, and our faith in Him catalyzes our prayer.

When you don’t trust God, on the other hand, you limit the scope of his authority in your life. God is capable of doing anything we ask of him, but you must play a part in this by trusting him.

The bible says if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.

Therefore, trust in God is very important for the display of the power of God. The second reason you should know how to trust God is that you will receive true joy and peace.

Trusting God means letting go and letting God, letting go of your fears, anxieties, and worries, and letting God take control. When you let go of these things, God replaces them with Joy, peace of mind, and happiness.

Psalm 40: 4 says Oh, the joys of those who trust the LORD, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols. When the challenges of life face us, and all seem hopeless, can you trust the Lord that he can do as he says?

Can you learn how to trust in God when things are not going according to plan? Jerimiah 29: 11 says, For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

The plans of God for our lives are different from the plans we have for ourselves, but we know that these plans are good.

God did not create us to suffer or lack. He knows our requests and needs before we ask; he only asks that you trust him and wait patiently for his plans.

As numerous as we are on the earth, God knows each of us by name and knitted you in your mother’s womb with perfection, he knows you way more than you know yourself, and he knows what is best for you.

However, you have to trust in his plans and keep it at the back of your mind that he has good plans and a glorious future awaiting you.

Becoming a Christian does not insulate you entirely from evil occurrences because the devil keeps warring against us. The bible says in John 16:33, in the world; you will have tribulation.

We can’t avoid it; there will be trouble, there will be bad days, there will be opposition from all sides, but the concluding part of that verse says that we should take heart because he has overcome the world.”

He has overcome the world; that’s good news for us all. Jesus has overcome disease, death, sorrow, and the devil, we are now more than conquerors, and you will overcome whatever challenge you might face. Count these challenges as an opportunity to improve your faith in God.

James 1:2-3 says Dear brothers and sisters when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

We will face situations that teach us how to trust God. These challenges build our faith and increase our ability to trust in God’s unfailing love. But God promises that he will not let us face more than we can bear. I Corinthians 10:13

There are many examples of people who showed their trust in God in the bible, David was one of them, and he showed how to trust God with results. Joseph is also another example. He trusted God despite his unpleasant situation.

He was not only deceived by his brothers and sent to a faraway land as a slave, but He also found himself in Jail. Despite all these challenges, he believed the God of Israel would not forsake him, so the scripture says, ” The Lord was with Joseph, and he prospered (Gen 39:2A)

Moses was also among the lots that trusted God even when it seemed there was no way out. We can note from these three examples that they moved to a higher level of Glory after these challenges.

David became the King of Isreal; this would not have happened if David didn’t fight Goliath. Joseph became a prime minister in Egypt, and his life changed in 24 hours.

Joseph was even more important than the husband of the woman who threw him in Jail. Sometimes, these problems prepare you for the next level God is taking you to.

God can change the situation of anybody in a twinkle of an eye no matter how hopeless it might be, and he can use anybody to take you to your breakthrough.

So far, we have built our trust and faith in God by reminding ourselves of his word but now let us look at fifteen ways on how to trust God

Fifteen Ways On How To Trust God

1.  Remember Your Past Testimonies Or Victories

David was the perfect example of this. In I Sam 17:34-37) he told Saul this

“I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death.

I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! The LORD who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!”

David built his trust in the God that delivered him from his previous challenges. He believed that God could still deliver him from these present challenges.

So don’t make the mistake of being ungrateful and forgetful. Instead, remember the times God brought you out of difficult situations and believe he can do it again.

2.  Have A Testimony Journal

Everyone should keep a testimony journal; it will help develop confidence in God. When God solves anything for you, write it down. Write down all the times he has delivered you.

Then, when you face a struggle in the future, take up your journal and read it. As you read, your faith will be strengthened, and you will understand that God, who was able to do it previously, is still able to do it. He is precisely the same as yesterday, today, and forever.

3.  Realize God Is Bigger Than Your Problems

One way to show you know how to trust God is by placing God above your problems.

Whenever you set your negative situations above God, you will lose your trust in God’s ability to defend you. We can look at two examples of people at different ends of this spectrum: David and the people of Israel.

1 Samuel 17:4,-7) says Then Goliath, a Philistine champion from Gath, came out of the Philistine ranks to face the forces of Israel. He was over nine feet tall! He wore a bronze helmet, and his bronze coat of mail weighed 125 pounds.

He also wore bronze leg armor, and he carried a bronze javelin on his shoulder. The shaft of his spear was as heavy and thick as a weaver’s beam, tipped with an iron spearhead that weighed 15 pounds. His armor bearer walked ahead of him carrying a shield.

This description is enough to scare anyone; Goliath was a giant, and David was a small shepherd boy, but David had complete trust in the Lord instead of cowering in fear.

To David, the giant was worthless before God and an ordinary uncircumcised philistine since he has defiled the Lord. David realized the God who created Heaven and the earth was mightier than this situation.

On the other hand, the Israelites did not trust the Lord, despite how God miraculously rescued them from Egypt with the ten plagues and crossing of the red sea.

When they sent spies to check the land of Canaan, they called themselves grasshoppers compared to the citizens of Canaan. They lessened the God that made all.

Their lack of trust made God very angry, and all of them who said this died in the desert without seeing the Promised Land. (Numbers 13:1-33) Choose to be like David and not the Israelites. Magnify God today, don’t make the mistake of making God too small.

4.  Do Not Depend On Your Understanding

The biblical meaning of trust in the Lord can be found in Proverbs 3:5-6 it says ” Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

This bible verse tells us three things. First, it tells us to rely on God wholeheartedly and leave no space for doubts or worry but to trust him with our whole hearts.

It also encourages us to acknowledge God in all our ways and in every action or decision we make, make sure God is involved, rely on God’s wisdom, kindness for direction or guidance in times of need, and lastly not to lean on our understanding.

Leaning on your understanding is to depend on your physical strength. Instead, we need to submit to God’s direction and counsel. He shall direct our path, and the result will be security and happiness that bring Glory to God.

5.  Look At The Beauty Of Nature

This is another way to trust God. The palmist says in Chapter 19:1. The heavens proclaim the Glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.

He also said in Psalm 104:24-25 says “O Lord, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom, you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures. Here is the ocean, vast, teeming with life of every kind, both large and small.

Nature declares the Glory of God; it expresses the presence and power of God. God created everything around us the trees, sun, stars, everything your imagination can think of; despite how advanced science is there are still many things that they cannot do, like create life.

Sometimes you can feel his presence around you by being surrounded by nature; when you make some introspection and think deeply about all he has made, you would genuinely see how great God is. There is this beautiful hymn titled how great thou art that says

Oh Lord, my God
When I, in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

God is indeed great, and he has the power to save; trust that the Lord who is the creator of all can save you.

6.  Surround Yourselves With, Other Believers

The scripture says in Prov 27:17 As sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Whenever you need support, other believers are there for you.

They can intercede for you and counsel you on what is best to do. Like minds support each other. If you move with people that put their trust in God, it will shape your trust in God too.

7.  Read About Others Testimonies

Listen to the testimony of others who have gone through similar situations as this will help improve your faith in God.

This is why it is important not to forsake the gathering of other believers. Instead, you can hold on to these testimonies and believe that God who did that for them will do it for you also.

8.  Confess God’s Promises In The Word Of God

In Heb 13:5, “…He says I will never leave you or forsake you. In Phil4:19, he says. You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you.

Pick these promises Of God and declare them upon your life, God’s word proves true, and it never fails; his word does not go back to him unfilled. So believe and have faith in him.

You can declare his word while praying, while walking on the road or when the devil attacks you with doubt and anxiety. Confess the scriptures upon your life. You build your faith in God and learn how to trust God entirely as you do this.

9.  Spend Time In God’s Presence

Spend time in the presence of God, worshipping him, studying his word, and praying to him. You will get to know him better as you spend more time with him, and your trust in him will grow.

If you stay in God’s presence all of the time, He will reveal something to you that will strengthen your faith in His existence. Unless a person has a specific duty, God is available to those who make themselves open to Him.

God will not compel you to accept Him. He has given you the power to make judgments and choices, and He has made His love and words available to every one of us.

10.  Pray For Help

Prayer is not a sign of weakness, but trust shows you believe in his power to save, and you have decided to acknowledge him in all your ways. Your human wisdom and physical strength are not enough to save you.

You need the divine intervention of God in your life. God answers prayers, and he is always there to listen to you. So be bold, pray and ask for help from your father in Heaven with faith, be assured that your prayers are answered.

This is how to trust in God. We have taken our time to compile some powerful prayers that will equip you for your physical warfare. Do ensure to check them out and constantly pray those prayers as you trust God.

11.  Listen To Godly Music

Music nourishes the spirit. Serenading worship music can help you strengthen your faith in the Lord. The words in these songs create a sense of serenity and tranquillity; you could even find yourself speaking in tongues or praying.

These songs about God’s faithfulness will inspire you to believe in him even more. I particularly like four days late. It tells the account of Lazarus’ resurrection, and despite how God may seem late or absent, he is always on time.

12.  Take A Leap Of Faith

This might be anything as simple as purchasing a vehicle sticker while praying to God for a car or buying baby clothing while praying to God for the fruit of the womb.

Take a bold act of faith to show Heaven you’re serious about your belief. The woman with the blood issue is an excellent illustration.

She held the hem of Jesus’ robe, and she was healed. She took such a bold step of faith because she believed in God. Today, take faith-based action.

13.  Get Rid Of Negative Thoughts And Doubts

Negative thoughts, fear and doubts are from the devil, resist them, the bible says Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Resist him the word of God, resist him with prayer, and he will flee from you

Perhaps God is calling you to leave your comfort zone to go to a place of greater honor; believe in the Lord as Abraham did. If you believe Bible events are not true, you will lose out. Study each story and learn from them.

15.  Counting Your Blessings

Counting your blessings demonstrates that you know how to trust God. It demonstrates that you, too, are thankful. It’s an excellent approach to strengthening your faith in God.

You will give gratitude to God if you realize it is not because of your physical power that you are alive. Count all of the blessings you can think of, and you’ll see how much God has blessed you.

Thank God for your life, thank him for the Holy Spirit, consider the things in your life for which you should be thankful, and give God all the Glory.

16.  Thank God In Advance

Thank God ahead of time for whatever it is you’re expecting. It shows you how to trust God. Faith is believing in the reality of something you haven’t seen, and trust is putting that faith into action.

Spend time praising and adoring him. God’s hands will undoubtedly act powerfully in your life because he dwells in the praises of his people. Bible verses to increase your trust in God.
