How To Share My Faith With Others- 12 Ways

Sharing is caring!

Every believer is given the commission to go into the world and make disciples, but sometimes, many people struggle to preach the gospel due to fear, low self-esteem or anxiety.

One common question they often ask is, “How to share my faith with others” As a believer, your faith goes beyond what you can keep to yourself; it’s what needs to be expressed and also transferred to others so that they can enjoy eternal life you have access to and grow spiritually in the Kingdom of God.

Sharing your faith can be done through building genuine relationships, listening to others with an open heart, helping those in need, serving in your community and sharing your personal experiences in a way they can understand. Sharing your faith doesn’t mean forcing your beliefs on others or using hell as a threat to convert them.

In this post, we’ll share 10 ways to share your faith with others, no matter where or who you’re talking to. Sharing your faith is a growth journey for you and those you preach the gospel to. Here are 10 ways to share your faith with others around you.

1.  Living Christ-Like Life

Have you ever wondered how to share your faith with others? I know I have. We often think of sharing our faith as a grand event, a big speech, or a well-rehearsed argument.

But what if I told you that one of the most powerful ways on how to share my faith with others is by living it out? The early Christians didn’t have social media, loudspeakers or mega-churches. Yet, their faith spread like wildfire. Why? Because people saw something different in them.

They saw love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). These qualities are like a magnet, drawing people to them.

When we live out these virtues, we become a carrier of Jesus through our words, actions and interactions. The name “Christians” came from Men seeing the disciples of Christ living in the same manners as Christ did.

Their lives were so transformed by their faith that it was evident to everyone around them. Imagine if we could do the same! Our faith can be shared with others by the way we live. Take, for example, the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). Jesus didn’t just tell us to love our neighbours; He showed us what it looks like.

He showed us that loving our neighbour means going out of our way to help those in need, even if they are different from us. Men can see faith in our attitudes, characters, and speaking. So, let’s try to live a Christ-like life, which is a life full of faith.

2.  Build Genuine Relationships With Others

Humans are likelier to open up and listen to those we trust and close to. One of the ways on how to share my faith with others is to build genuine relationships with others. Relationships are the gateway to having access to the heart of humans.

Building a relationship with them gives you access to their life; through this access, you can share your faith. Look at how Jesus spent time with all sorts of people. He ate with tax collectors, healed the sick, and even had a conversation with a Samaritan woman at a well. Jesus showed us that building relationships is key to sharing His love. He didn’t just preach to crowds.

He built deep friendships with them. This closeness allowed him to speak truth into their lives, and they were more open to hearing it because of their shared love and trust. When we take the time to build real friendships with others, we create an avenue where they feel comfortable hearing what we have for them. Don’t wait for the perfect opportunity to share your faith.

Start building relationships today. The goal shouldn’t be to convert people overnight. Be patient, be prayerful, and trust that God will work through your relationships to bring others to Himself.

3.  Pray For Opportunities To Share Your Faith With Others

One of the ways to share my faith with others is to pray for opportunities to share your faith with others. If there’s a man to pray, there’s a God to answer. Beyond strategies, you need to petition God to bring about an occasion that will let you share your faith with others. Ask, and it shall be given. God is eager to use us, but He wants us to depend on Him.

I’ve seen this happen in my life. There have been times when I’ve prayed for a chance to share my faith, and God has answered unexpectedly. It could be a conversation with a coworker, a question from a neighbour, or even a chance encounter with a stranger.

Philip, for instance, was led by the Holy Spirit to an encounter with the Ethiopian eunuch, a high-ranking official desperately seeking to understand the Scriptures (Acts 8:26-40).

Without prayer, this opportunity might not have happened, and the eunuch wouldn’t have received the good news of Jesus. God wants us to share His love with the world. When you pray for opportunities and the wisdom to use them, He will equip you and open doors you never knew existed.

4.  Use Social Media Platforms To Share Your Faith

Social media is a modern-day marketplace where people gather to exchange ideas and information. Remember how the Apostle Paul preached in the marketplaces of his time? He met people where they were, just like we can do online.

Social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and Twitter are undoubtedly among the fastest-growing platforms with millions of users. Social media platforms allow you to reach more people beyond your locality and immediate environment. You can take advantage of the online world for the sake of the gospel.

One of the ways on how to share my faith with others is to use social media platforms. As believers, we can strategically use our social media platforms to preach the gospel and share it with millions.

Every interaction you have online is an opportunity to plant a seed of faith. You might not see the results immediately, but God can use your words and actions to touch hearts and change lives. You can post Bible verses, quotes from Christian leaders, short Sermons or healing stories.

Share articles or videos that have encouraged you in your faith. Don’t just post and run. Respond to comments, answer questions, and join discussions. Be respectful of others’ opinions, even if you disagree.

5.  Mentor Someone In Their Faith Journey

The journey of faith is progressive and needs guidance; if not, many will lose their faith along the way. Mentorship is the way by which you can transfer the value and principles you have to someone.

One of the ways how to share your faith with others is to mentor someone in their faith journey. Mentoring is a powerful way to share your faith and make a difference in someone’s life.

It’s a way to invest in the next generation of believers and help them grow in their faith. If you’re looking for a way to share your faith, consider becoming a mentor. You’ll be glad you did. You don’t have to be a Bible scholar or a theologian to be a mentor.

All you need is a willingness to share your faith, to listen to others, and to walk alongside them on their journey. Set aside time each week to meet with your mentee.

This could be for coffee, lunch, or a walk in the park. Ask questions, listen to their answers, and try to understand their origin. As you invest in someone else’s faith journey, your faith grows deeper, and you’d be happy seeing someone else grow and mature in their relationship with God.

6.  Invite Friends To Church Services Or Events

Every believer is a product of an invitation to the kingdom of God, whether it was a direct invitation from a friend, family member, or stranger or an indirect invitation through the words of a preacher or the pages of scripture.

In the same way, we are called to extend that same invitation to others. The Bible encourages us to share our faith and bring others into the fold. One of the ways on how to share your faith with others is by inviting friends to church services or events.

When you invite someone to church, you are not just inviting them to a building or an event. You are inviting them into the atmosphere of the Holy Spirit to touch their heart and convict them of sins. You are allowing them to hear the gospel’s good news and experience God’s love and grace.

In John 1:46, Philip invites Nathanael to come and see Jesus. In Acts 2:39, Peter invites the crowd to repent and be baptized. Andrew didn’t just tell his brother Peter about Jesus; he brought Peter to meet Jesus himself (John 1:40-42).

That’s how an ordinary invitation can change the course of history and give room for salvation. Before you invite your friends, pray for them. Ask God to prepare their hearts and open their minds to the truth.

God will work in their lives before they step foot in the church. Don’t pressure them into coming; let them know you would love for them to join you. Be prepared to answer any questions they may have about the church or the event, and assure them that they will be welcomed and accepted.

7.  Start A Bible Study Group

One of the ways on how to share my faith with others is to start a Bible study group. The basis for growth and expansion starts from the lowest level; a bible study group is an avenue to create a community with people of faith. And through a bible study group, you can share your faith and instruct your group members to do likewise.

It can be done physically and on social media. You and your friends grow in your spiritual knowledge and understanding as you fellowship around the word of God. In Acts 2:42, the early believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayers, and all these things can be practised in a bible study group.

This bible study can be held in your home, office, coffee shop or park. You can make it online or offline, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, but be sure you are consistent with it; don’t give your members a reason to be inconsistent.

In your meeting, you can share the word of God, pray, worship and have a good time of fellowship. This will help your members grow in their faith and build a strong community of believers.

8.  Give Out Christian Literature, Such As Tracts Or Books To Others

Knowledge is power, which helps a man build his mindset. A man is undoubtedly the reflection of what he consumes. One of the ways on how to share my faith with others is to give out Christian literature, such as books, tracts or magazines.

Christian literature can be a powerful tool for sharing your faith. It can reach people where they are, whether sitting in a waiting room, riding the bus, or relaxing at home.

And because it’s something they can hold onto and revisit, it can continue to speak to them long after you’ve given it to them. Choose literature that is appropriate for the person you’re giving it to.

Consider their age, interests, and level of spiritual understanding. Pray before you give it out, asking God to use it to touch the person’s heart.

9.  Share Your Personal Testimony

Personal testimony can influence and compel people to believe in something more than just ordinary information. Sharing your testimony is one of the ways on how to share my faith with others. Your testimony makes you a living witness of the gospel of Christ.

The truth is, Many believe what they see, just like Thomas. And I think that by sharing your testimony, you can compel many Thomas and have the avenue to share your faith with them.

In John 4, Jesus shared His living water with her, and her testimony transformed her entire community. Your testimony, too, can potentially touch hearts and change lives.

So, don’t be afraid to share your story. Don’t underestimate the power of your testimony. You are a living, breathing example of God’s love and grace, and your testimony is something God can use to draw others to Himself.

10.  Volunteer Your Time To Help Others In Need

Everybody needs help; you might not know, but that’s true. If you take note, you will see and take advantage of that to give a helping hand and provide good service to people who need it.

One of the ways to share my faith with others is to volunteer your time to help others in need. When you volunteer, you show Christ’s love in action. Your actions can speak louder than words and touch the hearts of those you help.

Look at the story of the Good Samaritan. In this story, a man is robbed, beaten and left for dead on the side of the road. A priest and a Levite pass by, but they do not stop to help.

Then, a Samaritan comes along. He sees the man’s need, and he takes pity on him. He binds up his wounds, takes him to an inn, and pays for his care. The Good Samaritan didn’t ask the injured man about his religion or background before helping.

He saw a need and responded with compassion. Many people have needs in your community. Ask God to show you where you can be of service. If you have a particular skill or talent, use it to help others.

11.  Create A Podcast Or Blog

You can harness the power of technology to reach out to a global audience and win more souls for God without leaving your house. The internet has opened up opportunities for spreading the Gospel, and there are different platforms you can use to share your faith with others. Creating a podcast or blog is one of the ways on how to share my faith with others.

These platforms allow you to share your faith experiences, biblical insights, and testimonies personally and engagingly. Are you a storyteller? A podcast might be your calling.

If you enjoy writing and in-depth reflection, a blog could be perfect. Unlike traditional methods, they can reach people anywhere, anytime. Someone on a morning jog in Australia can be just as inspired by your message as someone on their evening commute in Canada.

Both podcasts and blogs are easily accessible through smartphones and computers, reaching people where they are. Share your podcast or blog on social media, with your church community, and with friends and family. Like the early Christians who shared the good news “in every house they entered” (Acts 5:42), don’t be afraid to spread the word.

12.  Give Gifts With A Spiritual Message

Giving gifts is an easy way to get people’s attention. We show love and appreciation and even celebrate progress with presents. But have you ever considered using gifts to preach the gospel?

One of the ways on how to share my faith with others is to give gifts with a spiritual message. People love gifts; it’s a universal language of love and kindness.

When you give a gift with a spiritual message, you’re not just giving an item but sharing a piece of your faith and love for God. Ask God to guide you to the right gift for the right person. Choose a gift that you think the recipient will appreciate and that will be meaningful to them. If possible, add a personal touch to the gift, such as a handwritten note or a special inscription.

The most important thing is to give with a sincere heart and a desire to share God’s love. Your gift doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate; it just needs to be given with love and accompanied by a message that points to Christ.

Conclusion

We all have different ways of sharing our faith. Some talk about it, some show it through actions, and some do both. We can lead people to Christ through our words, actions, or even the gifts we give. So, let’s be bold to share the good news with others. Our words or actions could be the very thing that leads someone to Jesus.
